Ripening organic Onions in a raised bed

A bed of home grown organic main-crop onions grown from sets. Variety centurion. The photograph shows the bulbs in the second week of August just as the stems are beginning to topple. Plants should be left to topple naturally and not bent over artificially. This prevents damage to the necks and potential rotting problems during storage.
