Another of his grand-sons, George-John Cayley, resided forsome time in America, about the year1840, and took great pleasure in revivingamong his Seton relatives the interestarising from his connection with the family. In a letter, dated 20th May 1768, and addressed to his father, Sir George,Thomas Cayley says, concerning his wifes family, that a gentleman belong-ing to another branch of the Setons wrote to him as follows :-— There isno doubt that my old friend John Seton was the representative of theParbroath family, and of course lineally descended from Sir Alexander. Isabellas marriage took place onthe 3rd of October 1763, and she is described in Kiniber and Johnsonsold Baronetage as one of the daughters of the late John Seton, Esquire,of a very ancient family in the Kingdom of Scotland. 4. Jane, married in 1770 Sir Walter Synnott, Knight, of Ballymoyer,Co. Armagh, whose great-grandson is the present Mark Seton Synnott ofBallymoyer, formerly captain in the Armagh Light Infantry. 5. Elizabeth, married in 1762 Robert Berry, Esq., a nephew of Fer-guson of Raith, and was the mother of two beautiful and accomplisheddaughters, Agnes and Mary, long the ornaments of London society, andthe friends and correspondents of Horace Walpole, Earl of Orford.
