The latter is actuated by a leatherband, h, passing from the driving pulley, i (on the shaft, k), tothe pulley, n, and carries the bobbin round with it at a uniformspeed. At the same time the yarn passing through the slit,n, in the drum receives a backward and forward motion of theamplitude shown at /, and is thus coiled in cross windings onthe simple wooden bobbin, /.
