Literary icon Jane Austen ( December July 1817) resided in this house for the last 8 years of her life (1809-17) and is where she wrote and revised many of her novels. The house is open to the public and contains many items of interest such as first editions of her books together with many family items and memorabilia. Jane Austen is buried in Winchester.
