Medical Uses.—The difierent species of plants bearing thisname are considered to possess nearly the same medical proper-ties. Its great value consists in its excellent virtues as a ner-vine—not being accompanied by any injurious tendencies—buthaving very beneficial results in cramps or spasms, in allay-ing pain and quieting the nerves, or in imparting rest andrepose.
