A courtly hunting hanger, from the reign of Ludwig I of Bavaria (1825 - 1848) A straight blade with wide fullers, etched, blued, and gilt. The obverse side displays two crowned "L" ciphers in oak and laurel wreathes, on the reverse side the depiction of deer. Simple, silver hilt, stag horn grip. Leather scabbard with silver mountings and a replacement by-knife. The reverse side of the locket is inscribed "M. Wimer in München". Bluing and gilding rubbed by cleaning. Blade somewhat stained.
