As a matter of interest, proceedsfrom this sale will be used to de-fray the expenses of replacing thefront porch which was dislodged by thefalling branch of a large old oak treestanding next to the house during arecent wind storm. Unfortunately, thetree had to be taken down as oaks of Derwent were especiallyadmired by the Lees and this oneshaded the General during the hotsummer of Derwent, R. E. Lees Retirement Home, as it appears in 1975.
