NEW PHILIPPINE FISHES—FOWLEK 67 truding in front; teeth in villiform bands in jaws, also present onpalatines; bony interorbital width 6% in head measured from snouttip, concave. Gill rakers 5 + 10, robust, short, clavate, % long as gillfilaments, which about equal pupil. Pair of small nasal spines; short and low antero-supraorbitalspine up and backward, and 2 broad low and rather large postero-supraorbitals each side, closely set, with finely serrated edges allmore or less directed back; pair of similar strong nuchal spines closebehind last postero-supraorbital; parietal and occipital spines formstrong keel, slightly divergent backward with rather deeply concave.
