The truck is assigned to a definite locationwhere it will be most convenient for the men who are usingit, and care is taken to see that it is kept fully supplied andsecured by a standard repair track lock at all times when notactually in service. The tirst and most important matter in connection withthis feature of equipment maintenance is standard instruc-tions, issued in liook form, covering the preparation and main-tenance of journal box packing, also the equipment necessaryto handle the material as well as the tools, which is a ver>-important matter in connection with the proper method ofapplying packing to journal boxes. To handle the lubrication of equipment ])roperly and toreduce hot boxes to a minimum, the following methods shouldbe adopted: A
