The present rails, which are of the9-in. center bearing type, will be utilized. The IndianaAvenue job between Thirty-first and Thirty-sixthStreets is complete. Main Street is open for recon-struction work, and the solid concrete type of base willbe ordered from Twelfth to Nineteenth Street. MainStreet will then have this type of construction fromThird Street to the Union ELECTRIC HEATER FOR THE LATEST 200 CARS OF THE NEWYORK MUNICIPAL CORPORATION thus eliminating the possibility of short-circuits at thispoint. The terminal connections are of the Fahnstocktype, which facilitate connecting and heater coils can be removed from the housing forrepairs by taking out a single screw. The casing is made of two thicknesses of sheet iron,and is lined with asbestos. Its over-all dimensions are26 in. x 8 in. x 3% in. An order for 6000 of these heat-ers has been placed with the manufacturer.
