Lieutenant Jos. H. O'Connell's aircraft experienced a broken propeller while in flight at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. The motor and motor sill were also damaged. Fortunately, the pilot emerged unharmed from the incident. The photograph was taken on December 10, 1918, and is part of the collection of American Military Activities during World War I.
