Tehnoimport building Bucharest Romania

Built in 1935, the Tehnoimport Building is an important example of the cylindrical form in modernism. Architect: Harry Stern, Rudolf Frenkel, Marcel Locar. The Tehnoimport tower block is located at the intersection of Doamnei street and Academiei street. The curved surfaces, often found in this period, offer a special composition. Also, sticking to the heels of the existing constructions leads to successive retreats from the last floors. This happened for urban planning reasons, but also because of the desire of the designers to create a special volume. The height regime of the building is P+10E+1M with a developed area of 2750 sqm. The building still houses the advertisement of the "Tehnoimport" company. Currently, it contains apartments of the Union of Plastic Artists (UAP), since 1985. From the 6th floor to the upper floors there are residential apartments and company offices.
