Terrapin sunbathing on great crested grebe's nest/eggs.

The grebes were trying to eject this terrapin from their nest which contained eggs but it would not shift. Half an hour later it was still there and I don't know how long it had ben there before I saw it. Unfortunately I did not have a long lens with me on the day I saw this so, quite a crop! This year; 2024, not one great crested grebe can be seen on the lake, they have abandoned the area, almost certainly because of this pest. In the past there have been up to three pairs nesting here.
