Chartres Cathedral, the Cathedral de Notre Dame, dominates the town and the surrounding landscape. It was built between 1134 and 1260. It is especially famour for its stained glass windows, its labyrinth and the thousands of pilgrims who visit the cathedral each year to venerate Our Lady of Chartres.
