171112-N-HI376-137 WESTERN PACIFIC (Nov. 12, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102) participates in a photo exercise with ships from the aircraft carriers USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) strike groups. Sampson is deployed with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, conducting maritime security, forward presence theatre security operations in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
