A restaurant owner stands outside his premises in Kuzguncuk, in 'Old Istanbul', famed for its seafood restaurants.

Kuzguncuk is a neighborhood in the Üsküdar district on the Asian side of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The neighborhood is centered on a valley opening to the Bosphorus and is somewhat isolated from the main part of the city, being surrounded by nature preserves, cemeteries, and a military installation. Originally home to Armenians, Greeks and Jews, who were expelled after riots in 1955, there are few non-Muslims left. It is a quiet neighborhood with streets lined with antique wooden houses and a sought after district to live in. With its historical mansions, churches, synagogues and mosques, cobblestone paved streets, trees and vegetable gardens, it also attracts film makers as a natural film set.
