2: Malieveld, Liberation Day Festival, The Hague, The Netherlands. Saturday, 5th May, 2018. Dutch group member, Bas van Wageningen of Di-Rect, were the Headline act on the Malieveld this evening, as The Hague celebrated its Liberation Day Festival. Additional headliners performed earlier were: Candy Dolfer and Tim Akkerman. Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag) honors the day in 1945 when Holland was liberated from occupation by the German army at the end of World War II. In total 14 formal Liberation Day festivals were being staged all over the country. The celebrations end with the traditional May 5 concert on the Amstel river in Amsterdam, which is broadcast live on television and will be attended by king Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima.
