The Tonawanda Lumbermen s Associa- tion and the Longshoremen's Union have agreed on a scale of rates lo be charged for unloading lumber from vessels at the Tonawandas this season. The rale on white pine will lemain at 30 cents per thousand feet. On 1101 way pine and hemlock the rate will be 35 cents, an increase of 2 cents. An advance ot nearly 10 cents, to 50 cents, was made on all hardwoods excepting basswood, on which the charges will be the same as last season. Slight advances were made on shingles and lath and an increase of 5 cents on No. 5 boards and scoots and 4-mch strips where the amount to be handled exceeds 50,000 feet, making the rate 35 cents.
