Ten days after that battle the line officersmet together to recommend someone for Col-onel of the Regiment, and I believe that GeneralWeaver received the vote of every officer . .. for Colonel, and I am satisfied that hisbravery in that battle was what removed theprejudice that seemed to exist by reason of hishaving been promoted over other office
