A repeating air rifle, Girandoni action, Joseph Contriner in Vienna, circa 1830. Square turn-off barrel with blued Damascus structure and 14 groove rifling in 12 mm calibre. Dovetailed folding, iron rear sight and iron front sight. Spring loaded sliding tapered breechblock. Side mounted, perforated magazine for 13 round balls. The signature "Joseph Contriner in Wien" is inlaid in gold on the chamber between two fire-gilt barrel sections. There is a beautiful chiselled steel depiction of the father of the Roman gods, Jupiter, releasing the wind on the blued iron,
