Recklinghausen, Castrop-Rauxel, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - New construction of a bridge -jump over the Emscher-, a floating crane on the Rhine-Herne-Canal during the floating-in of the middle part of a foot- and cycleway bridge over the Emscher and the Rhine-Herne-Canal. Construction project EMSCHERLAND, a 37 hectare water and nature experience park at the water junction of the Rhine-Herne Canal and the renaturalized Emscher at the city border of Recklinghausen to Castrop-Rauxel. EMSCHERLAND will also be a future garden of the International Garden Exhibition 2027. Before renaturation, the river system of the Emscher was an open, above-ground wastewater canal, combined sewer with surface water and wastewater.
