'Christiania. Dragon-head gable terminals, suggesting the prows of Viking ships, and shingle roofs characterise the old wooden Stave characters in Norway. This specimen is preserved in the Folkes Museum', c1920. Stave churches are medieval Christian buildings typical of northwestern Europe and made of wood. The preserved ones are mostly in Norway.
