He was accjcunp^ied by Mrs. Aldrich. ^^ j Another eastern visitor/who is calling on the local trade is Robert Newcomb, of the Burlington Willow Ware Shops, Burlington, la. J. A. Axell has received an early cut of some splendid Rainbow freesias, originated and grown by K. S. Murray, of Redwood City. Mr. Axell expects the crop to be large enough to take care of his customers within a week or two. M. M. TACOMA, WASH. The Market. With General John J. Pershing and his staff in Tacoma and Camp Lewis last week, all the florists were kept busy filling orders for cut flowers and flower- ing plants for hall and table decorations. Business has been excellent since the beginning of the year. Good roses are in fair supply, with Russell and Ophelia in the lead. There is a strong demand for short-stemmed stock in other varie- ties, as the principal activity is funeral work. Carnations have been off crop since the beginning of the year and there is no oversupply in any variety; prices hold up well. A limited amount of bulbous stock is coming in and is readily taken. Freesias are the principal item; they are excel- lent and sell well. A few daffodils and tulips made their appearance last week. Primulas and cyclamens are still the stand-bys and sell well.
