Without both tlie elements of strength and holiness,the agent must inevitably be borne down in the unequal conflict andrmake failure in his CHAPTER III. THE REQUISITE MORAL RECONSTRUCTION. Statement and Subdivision. ^PHE preceding investigations have repeatedly brought toJ- light evidence that mans nature is in a condition ofmoral disorder, and that the prescribed life of duty has there-fore become impossible to him without a moral reconstructionof that nature.
