Dental maxillary nerve regions. Artwork of the teeth of the upper jaw (maxilla), seen from below, colour-coded by the branches of the superior alveolar nerve that supply the maxillary teeth. These are the posterior (purple), middle (yellow) and anterior (red) alveolar nerves, supplying the rear two molars, first molar and premolars, and canine and incisors respectively. Injection of local anaesthetic is used to produce nerve blocks that allow dental work to be carried out on these teeth. For artworks of these injections, see C016/6822 to C016/6824.
