Cowroid Seal-Amulet, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, early, ca. 1492–1473 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, Tomb of Hatnefer and Ramose (below TT 71), coffin III, burial 2, pelvis, 1935–36, Faience, L. cm (11/16 in.); W. cm (7/16 in.); cm (3/16 in.), This amulet imitates the shape of a cowrie shell and is thus called a cowroid. It was found near the pelvis of an unnamed woman who was buried in the tomb Hatnefer. The heraldic design on the base is intricately carved and includes a falcon standing on a rearing cobra
