A snow capped Mauna Loa from the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory & Jaggar Museum


The Observatory monitors the four active Hawaiian volcanoes: Kīlauea, Mauna Loa, Hualālai, and Haleakalā. It is located on the rim of Kīlauea Caldera on Kīlauea, and was founded in 1912 by Dr Thomas Jaggar. Now run by the US Geological Survey.
