BERLIN, GERMANY. The Bendlerblock, once home to the German Wehrmacht, and now the German Defence Ministry. 2012.

The statue in this picture marks the spot where Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg and other members of the 'July bomb plot' were executed by firing squad following their failed coup against Hitler in 1944. The offices where Stauffenberg worked (on the right of this picture) are now the Gedenkstatte Deutscher Widerstand (Memorial to German Resistance). This image is exclusive to Alamy and their appointed representatives.
