The florists of this city seem to be well satisfied with the condition of business, as there have been many decorations and much funeral work. Henry Hornecker is located in East Orange, but he is so near the line that he is looked upon as a citizen of Newark, which is quite plausible, as he is president of the Essex County Florists' Club, which meets in New- ark. He is both a grower and re- tailer, having a considerable glass area and a nice store at 75-77 Central avenue. He has five houses filled with stock that is being forced for Easter. On February 17, Philips Brothers had a large order for the funeral of Matthias Plum, aged 75 years, a life long resident of this city and one of its prominent business men. J. H, Harvey, the well known re- tailer of 453 Broad street, has had a five weeks' tussle with grippe and bronchitis. He recovered sufficiently to be able to be out, then had a re- lapse, but it is hoped he will soon be about again. We found Ernest Radany and wife, 59G Central avenue, quite busy on fu- neral work. February 17, but they were through in time to enjoy the banquet of the Essex County Florists' Club, held on that evening. John Crossley, 39 Belleville avenue, reports good business. He has a nice family trade and is a constant Vjuyer in the New York wholesale market. F. A. Kuehn, who several years ago bought the business at 621-623 Cen- tral
