Parsley and parsnip are both very light crops, not above 20 per cent. Onion seed, the most important crop, is, owing to persistent irrigation, on the average the best California seed crop of this very poor year. Taking an average of all sections, we think there will be slightly over 50 per cent of a crop, a great deal depending on the weather from now, which is the critical time for onion. There was quite a quantity of this item carried over from the excellent crop of 1912 and this seed, being of first class quality, will help out this year. We think most of the growers will be able to deliver onion nearly in full. Of course all will be short on some kinds but there will be enough, we think, to supply the trade with their wants. Those who have not contracted will have to pay an advance in price of probably 25 per cent. L. W. Wheeler. Manager Pieters-Wheeler Seed Co. Seed Used Per Acre.
