PHILIPPINE SEA (Feb. 22, 2016) - Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 2nd Class Matt Fulks, from Utica, Mich., gives the signal to launch an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Black Aces of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 41 from USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) flight deck while Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Murasame-class destroyer JDS Murasame (DD-106) steams alongside. Providing a ready force supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, Stennis is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.
