Skin reduction surgery. Seated 49 year old man seen twelve weeks after surgery to reduce excess skin following extreme weight loss. This man had bariatric surgery, initially a gastric balloon replaced later by gastric bypass. He lost about 70kg over one year and was left with a large apron of excess skin (see SPL image C016/7170 for comparison). The skin removed weighed more than 12kg.
