Throughan error in last weeks issue this regu-lation was spoken of as a Dominionmeasure. It is in fact an amendment tothe Ontario Temperance Act and as suchis of course binding only on the resi-dents of that province. The law providesthat the merchant selling flavoring ex-tracts shall keep a record of the saleand the name and address of the partysold in a book provided for that pur-pose. There is a proviso in this amend-ment that permits the sale in largerquantities to institutions, confectioners,and others who have a legitimate de-mand for a greater quantity than twoand a half ounces.
