The Monastery San Xulian e Santa Basilisa de Samos is one of the oldest monasteries in Spain. The abbey was found in the 6th century. It is an emblematic stop for St. James pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. One tradition of the Benedictine monks is also to receive pilgrims and offer them a place to stay over night like this simple but cared pilgrim´s hostel.
