Bellu is the most famous cemetery in Bucharest, Romania. It was founded in 1858 on the land donated by Barbu Bellu, a Romanian baron of Aromanian origin, minister of culture and minister of justice. Bellu Cemetery is a national Pantheon, sheltering the tombs of Romanian illustrious artists, writers and national heroes.
