PACIFIC OCEAN (July 26, 2017) Aviation Support Equipment Technician 2nd Class Jose-Benjamin Lopez, assigned to the Air department aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) directs an MV-22B Osprey, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (reinforced), on the ship’s flight deck. San Diego, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
