Tai-yiien, April Vjth.—When I wrote last I mentionedthat I was going to Ting-yao to prospect, and, if I found thingsall right, I should with little delay remove there. I like thehouse very much ; its situation is just what I wanted, being inthe street. The man that Mr. Hsi put in charge seems really anice fellow. I certainly feel that the Lord has done exceeding. AN ANCIENT TEMPLE. abundantly in this case, and am overjoyed. I got a nice recep-tion when preaching on the streets, and am really believing theLord is going to work and give me faith to lay hold on Himfor great things. I am delighted at the prospect of getting awork of my own. From Miss Seed. Iliao-i, April 2\st.— Since January we have constantly hadwomen with us breaking off opium. Thirty-five men have beencured at the refuge ; two of these have gone back, but the othersare all more or less interested in theGospel. Ten of the men have appliedfor baptism. There are also threewomen who wish to be baptised, andmore whom we believe to be trulyconverted. We have tried to followup the men in their homes, but this isno easy task, as most of them comefrom the villages round—some thirty, some fifteen, and some ten li away. The work is very encouraging, both in the city and in the villages, and we are hoping for great expectation is from Him. Weare very happy
