The Balsamodendron Myrrha,which produces the myrrh of commerce, has a woodand bark which emit a strong odor ; the gum whichexudes from the bark is at first oily, but becomeshard by exposure to the air: it belongs to the nat-ural order Terebinlhacece (comp.
