During the aquatic safari camp in Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express , outside the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana , we will find an interesting variety of birds. Moremi covers an area of 4,871 km2 , the eastern part of the Okavango Delta . Basically described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves , combining mopane forests and acacia trees , flood plains and lagoons. Moremi is highly recognized by the wide variety of flora and wildlife. Birdlife is prolific and varied, ranging from water birds to shy forest dwellers . There are several species of ducks and geese an interesting variety of herons. There are numerous elephants especially during the dry season , as well as other species of animals ranging from buffaloes , giraffes , lions , leopards , cheetahs , wild dogs, hyenas , jackals and all kinds of antelope , large and small , including the red lechwe.
