This is a deficiently known species, the real affinities of which are yet uncertain, as it has never been collected with ripe fruits. Besides from Cyprus it is only known from the southern part of Asia Minor. Dry hills and vine-yards, on calcareous soil. Perapedhi (Post), between Pano Panaoia and the mona- stery of Khrysorogiatissa (JH 1061). Note. Thapsia villosa L. Sp. pi. ed. 1, 261 (1753) is said by Sibthoep (Prodr. I, 201), to be found in Cyprus, but surely does not occur there.—Regarding' Th. foetida L-, which is likewise mentioned by Sibthorp, vide supra sub Ferulago syriaca 47. Siler cordifoliuui Bois'.
