A rare 1741 stained glass window at The Vyne, a National Trust mansion in Hampshire and Alfred Fisher the restorer who pieced it back together. The window was found smashed to pieces in in a crate during a £ restoration of the Tudor mansion which is near Basingstoke. The window is a rare survivor of a period when little stained glass was made in England. May 1998 Picture by Roger Bamber
