Long-tailed cormorant (Phalacrocorax africanus) perched on a rock on the ground. This small, long-tailed cormorant, also known as the reed cormorant or shag, feeds on small fish, frogs, insects and crustaceans. It is found near water throughout Africa south of the Sahara desert.
