F-15 Eagle pilot, Lt. Col Mark "Odie" Ladtkow of the 199th Fighter Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, takes off for his last F-15 training mission on Aug. 25 while at Hickam. The 199th is transitioning from the F-15 to the F-22 Raptor, which is a fifth generation fighter. The 199th has flown the F-15 since 1987 and received their first two Raptors on July 9.
