The Sultan, a very long spike, enormously large flow- ers, set so perfectly on the spike that they form one solid mass of bloom 6 to 7 inches wide to i foot or more in lengtn; rosy flesh, splashed and flamed with deep pink; large, distinct blotch, of crimson-velvet appear- ance. This blotch is distinct from any other in exist- ence, so deep and brilliant is its color. Duchess of Edinburgh, purplish rose with a carmine stripe on the lower divisions, a flower of fine form and great substance; in England considered, without ex- ception, the finest variety ever sent out. Octoroon, Light, delicate buff, with soft tinge of rosy salmon, lemon blotch on lower petal; flowers of fine form and substance, spike tall and straight; an entirely new color in Gladioli. Saundersoni. Rich orange-scarlet; the texture of the petals has a remarkably soft appearance, glistening and sparkling like cr>-staL 50 cts. Africain.
