Flooding in Essex Overwhelms Trees
Recent gales and torrential rain have largely missed East Anglia, said to be the driest part of the UK but heavy rain over recent days has saturated the ground and river levels are now giving cause for concern. Most of the valley of the River Colne that runs through Suffolk and Essex is now in flood. These pictures captured on the outskirts of Sible Hedingham in Essex show flooded fields which are vert close to residential properties which must now be at risk from further forecast heavy rain. Essex Fire Service have already attended 70 flood call-outs today and expect this to increase as river levels increase.
