An extensive police cordon, three meters high steel wall, used in London for the N30 'Pensions Demonstration'


At the N30 demonstration against the cuts in public service pensions a three meter high steel wall or police cordon was used in London for the first time. Doors enable the passage of vehicles and perspex windows enable police to view and photograph/ video the first time in London, on November 30th 2011, police installed a 9 foot high steel corden/ wall extending about 200 meters blocking access to Whitehall/ the Mall/ Charing Cross Road and Trafalgar Square. The wall was punctuated by sliding doors to enable the passage of vehicles and windows for observation. The N30 Demonstration against pension cuts was entirely peaceful and composed of Trade Unionists many of whom worked in the public sector.
