A sabre M 1850/71 for officers of the navy. Chrome-plated (slightly stained) single-edged blade with yelmen and a decorative etching of a crowned anchor with coat of arms eagle. Maker "Weyersberg & Co. Solingen". Brass hilt with maritime décor and portepee thorn. Sharkskin grip, the slightly worn portepee with cipher "MJI". Leather covered iron scabbard, the brass fittings with obverse relief work. Attached (matching?) remnants of a sabre hanger.
