In general a certain increase of the biomass is observed in shallow regions, partly on the shores, partly at the edges of banks. Moreover the benthos biomass of the large and deep bays like the Kola Inlet, Motovsky Bay and Cheshskaya Inlet is smaller in their central parts when the aeration of the bottom layer is.
