Iwill admit, however, that I obtained myinformation from a different sourcefrom whence Mr. Schmidt evidentlyobtained his, mine being obtained fromthe locomotive itself, not only in set-ting it up, but afterward testing it. I would also like to call attention to the fact that thelaws governing saturated steam havebeen known since the time of Hero;and the laws covering gases (and super-heated steam is a gas) have stood un-refuted since the time of their an-nouncement by Boyle and Marriot, andit will take more
