Magnet from the low-energy antiproton ring (LEAR) at CERN (the European particle physics laboratory), near Geneva, Switzerland. Magnets kept the beam of antiprotons on the curved track of the ring. In 1995 physicists produced an antihydrogen atom by forcing a positron to stick to a antiproton in the LEAR. This was the first antimatter atom ever created.
